New PS3

I had no idea what I wanted for xmas and was more than happy with getting nothing as I dont need anything. Anyhow it was the wife who saw a bundle today for about £290 which included either 4 games or 2 games and 2 movies or movies and a remote.

So is £290 a good price to pay for a ps3 80gb bundle or should I be looking harder for a better deal.

High street store is doing the 80gb one with little big planet, resistance 2, motorstorm 2 and some downloadable games for £275 with a coupon.

If you want a PS£ and are going to watch movies on it I would strongly recommend getting the remote, make life sooooo much easier

Once you've used the the BD Remote, you'll wonder how you ever managed with the controler.

What, the PS3 doesnt come with a remote even though its boasted as a "next gen movie player" do MS still bundled the small remote with the 360?

I don't recall that they ever did in europe? Thought it was just South America? I may be wrong though.

don't be daft, manufacturers very rarely include anything that is not essential... its all money.

the controller for the ps3 is very nice though, i got one and although it doesn't make much difference its just better aint it

Back on topic - yeah that is a good deal (depending on what the games are). Shop around though, as I'm sure there are some nicer deals floating about...

itsa a good deal but the 360 60gb with gears of war 1 and 2, far cry 2, sega tennis and pgr4 for 180 quid is a far superior deal.

Well not really, you're comparing apples to pears.

You don't get a Blu-ray player, no remote, smaller hard drive, no built-in wifi, pay extra for online play, Sega Tennis sucks

etc. etc.

Add the prices for all those onto your £180 figure and see how superior it is

If the games are good Id go with the deal tbh, havent seen much better than that!

Agreed. If the games/blurays are something you'd be interested in getting anyway you've got a pretty good deal on your hands.

All the guy asked was if he found a bargain for a ps3 and people are trying to turn this into a console war suggesting things about 360's.

the reason I got my son a ps3 was even tho the 360 is cheaper by the time u add xbox live, wireless adapter you have paid about the same, plus its what he wanted lol.

thats a decent deal so go for it, might be worth asking if any of the games can be changed as they sometimes do that, can tailor a more suitable package
