New PSU Range at OcUK! AND THE LOWEST PRICE!

Shame you can't get individually braided cables for these. I have no appetite to do it myself but would love some (hang on I need to get the PSU first...).

Makes things look so much nicer imo.

Looking at the Corsair AX range they appear to use the exact same connectors and are re branded Seasonic units so they should work together.

There is/was a faulty batch of Seasonic Platinum PSU's, this was confirmed by Seasonic themselves in this August 2012 thread below.

does this only affect the 1000watt platinums? I ordered the last 860Watt one yesterday. I guess if it blows up like many in that thread you linked to then mine is from that batch. (I hope not though)

In that link I did notice someone with an 860 that failed. I expect that issue is localized and worse case you'll just exchange it.

Anyhow I've ordered up a Gold X-1050 largely due to Platinum being pre-order, I already own the X650 that's proved excellent.
 
can we still get the 1000watt platinum for the price advertised here £189.98 inc VAT rather than the £194.99 inc VAT advertised in the shop, also when is the stock actually due to arrive.. are these coming in at the same time as the g-series?

Any update? There's still no ETA listed on the shop page.

Currently running on my (spare/emergency) ColorsIT PSU, so you can see why I'm getting desperate.
 
Interested in knowing this also. Looking at the 360W but running out of time until I need to order a psu so hopefully get them in soon.
 
I can't find the 360W anywhere though, everywhere I can find is pre-order and either same price or more expensive. Nowhere that I can find that has it for pre-order has an ETA date for it either :mad:
 
I've had my basic OcUK PC for ~3 years now, but after 11 months the PSU popped, taking the CPU/mobo with it (just within the warranty). The replacement PSU lasted nearly 2 years, and luckily didn't cause any "collateral damage" as a cheapie second-hand PSU got it up-and-running (phew!).

So my problem is this :
Do I wait for the Seasonic, which while not cheap is quiet, efficient and rock-solid - and so worth every penny?
Or do I switch to a cheaper (but still good) alternative, eg Antec, before the ColorsIT PSU dies, possibly taking the CPU/mobo/RAM/GPU with it?

Not an easy decision, but it would be helpful if there was some kind of ETA...
