New PSU

My system was randomly crashing, especially after I added a few more hard disks etc, so I did a quick calculation on Extreme Calculator and it tells me I need at least a 497W PSU.

I realised that I only have a 450W one, and it is struggling to power my overclocked Opteron 165, X1900XTX and 4 x HDDs

What would you guys recommend for a good and quiet PSU?

I am thinking of adding another hard disk... so wouldn't the 620W version be better?

The 520W will still be more than capable although theirs no harm in buying the 620W version.

If your budget stretches to the 620W than go for it as it’s the one I have. It’s quiet and good quality, (as I would expect the 520W is).

Sorry to hijack the thread, but my Tagan TG430-U15 430W has just gone pop. Anyone know how the Corsair compares in terms of noise with the Tagan?

I know there is a 3 year warranty on the Tagan so I could just send it back but I want to get a higher rated PSU now since I think I skimped a bit by only getting the 430W in the first place.

Then rma your Tagan , sell it and buy the Corsair 520W, its almost silent so no need to worry about the noise.
