New PSU

That calculator is miles out. No wonder people end up recommending huge psu's. According to that my rig draws 467w. 197w more than it actually draws!! What a load of rubbish.

actually did calculation with according to what i see from your specs, guessed a couple of devices USB, 3 fans and 2 HDD and it comes to 369w ;)

PS a dual core is a single socket - I think you put dual socket that is why you got results.

anyway it's a tool to estimate and i find it useful, if you know of another toold to estimate that is better than please share with us

I know the difference between a single and dual socket!! How can you possibly "take a guess" at my system. I inputted exactly what i have in that so called calculator and it came back as 467w. Even what you guessed at is almost 100w over.

Our resident Finnish psu expert, EsaT, recommends this one http://web.aanet.com.au/SnooP/psucalc.php . That one says 243w for my rig which would be about right as the Zalman displays the power that the psu is drawing from the wall.

Took a guess on some info that was missing since not in spec. Anyway using same guessed values with that calc I get 343, which is not that big a difference with 369 ;) - not sure how correctlty you are using the calculator

these are estimate calculators, and not meant to be actual. Usefull when you who want to estimate pwr needs. If you personally feel like knockin of 30 or 50% of those estimates, then that is your right.

Not that sure that you are correctly using it. ;) At least i know exactly what i have.

I am not knocking off anything. I was saying what my actual REAL power draw is.
