So the fan on my psu has started getting really loud. After cleaning it out and it still being loud I decided I'm due a new one as its 5 years old anyway. Anyway my question is if you had the choice which one of the following would you go for:

1 x Sharkoon WPM 500W Modular '80 Plus' Power Supply £46.99
1 x OCZ ZS Series 550W '80 Plus Bronze' Power Supply £46.98
1 x Corsair Builder Series CX 500W V2 '80 Plus' Power Supply (CMPSU-500CXUKV2) £44.99

Any input/experiences would be great, especially when it comes to the Sharkoon as I haven't heard anything about them good or bad.

Although I would also recommend corsair, the CX series is poor in terms of corsairs standards. I had a CX 600 a while back and it blew up within a month, maybe I was just unlucky but I have heard bad things about the CX series. Therefore I would recommend the OCZ out of those 3.

The OCZ also has a 3 year warranty compared to the Corsairs 2 year warranty.

Besides cost is there any disadvantage to getting a psu with more than you need.
i.e if I need 500w is there any reason not to get 1000w
So long as there both good brands

Cheers for the input guys, ordered the XFX PSU, the 5-year warrenty is almost definately worth the extra £5 and the quality seems really good.

The XFX PSUs are pretty darn good, I've got the 1000W one and the fan is usually off as it doesn't turn on until round the 250-300W mark!
