New PSU

Building a new skylake 6700k / GTX 1080 system, going for a corsair 750i

However, RM750i or HX750i - choices and other than gold / plat, are there any major differences?

putting in a coolermaster mastercase 5 so space not an issue

I think the only difference is the efficiency. They both use the same fan and have Corsair link etc.

Unless they are the same price then I would take the RMi.

Have you happened to look at the Superflower PSU's

I have a couple & cannot recommend them enough

Hi, the HXi is a slight improvement over the RMi series, both very good and comparable but there are subtle differences with the components used that affect the efficiency rating.

Either would be fine for what you have listed, I myself have the HX750i and its a quality piece of kit.

I was recently considering HX750i when my AX750 gave up on me. From reviews I couldn't justify the price difference between RM750x and HXi. I'd suggest having a look at RMx series as in my opinion is that little bit better than RMi (unless you need Corsair link).

As you can see from my sig I ended up getting an AX760 as didn't need Corsair Link and manage to find it at a good price comparable to HXi.
