New RadeonPro

Thanks scotty.

I got RadeonPro working finally on windows 8, but it doesn't offer me the OSD options that afterburner/hwinfo does so i decided not to make the switch.

you can use AB and RP together, which is what i do. actually the beta installer was called radeonpro rc.exe or something similar, and the discussion page hasn't been updated recently. but the feature list does seem to have included a few games so it's most likely newer.

thanks for the link!

Think Guru3D had made mistake on this guys.
The Preview version with Dynamic vsync etc is 1.1.1.0 and I just downloaded this version and the number is 1.1.0.6 this is the stable build without the dynamic vsync etc.

or is it? Do you guys have the features the Preview was giving in this version?

Can you confirm when you move mouse over the download it says 1.1.0.6 but on RadeonPro you do have 1.1.1.0

Thanks

Strange When I download the RC1 version from your OP link I get 1.1.0.6 version.
If I go to the Radeonpro site I and download the Preview its 1.1.1.0

Sorry for thread Hijack but i have a question for LtMatt if you wouldn't mind pal
As you may by now know, i ordered the gigabyte Windforce 7970 GHZ edition today for delivery tomorrow.
I noticed you are using Windows 8 and was wonder seeing as my system could do with a fresh install i'm considering moving to win8.
The plan is to download the trial version to try and then buy if i get on with it.
Basically all i'd like to know is how your finding it for gaming? any compatibility issues with components, drivers or games? Really appreciate your opinion on it.

I using Windows 8 so might well give you what I also think.
Gaming its been excellent not had one game not work yet or crash. First thing I noticed was games feel more smoother so if Matt also agree with this.
Heaven 3.0 benchmarks score and frame rate have also went up a tiny touch over Windows 7.

Use it and treat the New Home Start just like a massive Start button and you will end up loving it :)
I take the Windows 8 start over Windows 7 start any day.

Hi,

I replied to your trust message but i will also echo what shankly says. Games did feel smoother to me on Windows 8. I also noticed less input lag when using vsync, though this might be something with windows 8 putting my refresh rate at 59.9 most of the time. I also experienced small gains in Directx11 titles on minimum and average fps in the region of a few fps. I also noticed my system using much less memory for everything. Makes me realise i don't need 16gb, but my motherboard looks nice with all four slots filled. (thats what she said)

Just make sure you use start8 to get rid of metro UI and bobs your uncle. :)
