New RAID array.

I'll be creating a 320GB RAID0 array with two 160GB drives soon.

I've never done this before, and don't fully understand what is required.

So what is a good strip size for a RAID0 Array?

I use a 32KB stripe size, tried different sizes, 128KB, 64KB, 32KB and 16KB, and for "general" usage found 32 to be the best...others, I'm sure, will have a different opinion...

IMO it depends on what's on the array. Mine stores games which are mainly archives and so favour a larger stripe size. Or I'm completely 100% wrong

It would mostly be games, plus a lot of music, images ETC

correct, it depends on what kind of files make up the majority of your array ....or what size of file you want to prioritise for speed......smaller the file size the lower stripe you want and vice versa.

i run a 1MB stripe on my Raid5 array as it's a media server storing only large files and this gives me the best performance.
