Hi,

I've got Corsair Vengeance 2133 @ 9 10 10 21 5 96 1.625v
and it's doing its job.

I've tightened everything I think of, but can't seem to get any
more speed out of it

Been looking at Corsair Platinum and G-Skill Rip Jaws X or Z

Want to find out how far I can push my rig and feel my Ram
is a limiting factor.

I know that only benefit I'll see is in benchmarks, which I enjoy
messing about with so for me it's not wasting money

Opinions please or should I be looking at something else ?

Been doing a bit of research on this and these 2 look good.
G skill F3-19200CL9Q-16GBZMD, Hynix IC's i believe(or are they samsung?), not cheap. Read these can go tight at there rated 2.4GHz or can be pushed a fair bit higher.

And also the G skill ripjaws Z pc 17000 CL9, 9-11-10-28, think these are PSC ic's, read that these have been oc'ed to 2400 with good timings.

Also read that it may be difficult to push past 2.4GHz with x79, unless you have a very very good chip. So with that in mind and if you have £200 to play with i'd go with my first choice and get 'em tight.

Sure the Main Man will be around soon and i'll be interested to see what he say's.

I use the dominator platinums and can get them to 2500ghz @9-11-11-25-1t just by winding the bclk up to 104.2, I think above that my CPU is not up to it.

I think I read 8 Pack say that some other memory was even better. It might have been the G-Skill.

You see benefit in everything with RAM not just Benching. It makes a system efficient.

On X79 you are limited by IMC as far as RAW mhz go most CPU top out at around 2500mhz. IMC also dictates timings you can run too which many people forget The Corsair Doms Kap mentioned are a good choice. As are all things GSKIL the 16gb Kit Nic mentions initially are Eliphida BBSE IC and clock great with volts. His bottom suggestion are Hynic not PSC but again are a top choice.

I use the following currently G.SKILL PSC 4 x 2gb Sticks RipjawZ 9-10-9 2133mhz kit which do 8-11-8-28 96 1T at 2510+ and for some benching 24/7 TeamXtreme 2600 mhz Kit 10-12-12-31 1T stock that tune to 9-12-11-28 121 1T at 2530+.

The team for me did better than the Corsair which surprised me. I have two kits of this stuff and its all working well.

No. It does run on X79 ok. But will not go as tight as the Doms or Team at around 2400-2550. This is the 2666mhz Hynix kit. The Samsung 2400mhz kit will get no where near on TRFC and other subs.

Thanks, I may need your help to get the best out of these :)

They can be a bit of a squeeze if you have a lot of tubing around the mobo but should be ok with a bit of planning.
