Hi Guys,
Just got another 2gb ram from here OCZ PC2 6400, which is the same as the ram I have in my machine already. So I have 4x1Gb dimms.
Stuck these in and the machine doesn't boot up, take them out and it's absolutely fine. Now, my original memory which is the same as what I just bought is PN: OCZP800R22GK (it says on the label) yet reports in CPU-Z at PN: OCZP800R21G - an older version according to the OCZ website. Could this gave an issues?
I've also tried just installing the new 2gb ram in place of the original memory and that just gives me a BSOD! So it makes me think theres something wrong with the memory especially when the modules are EXACTLY the same according the part number.
Any thoughts? At the moment I think I may just send the memory back, I bought these as they were the same as my current memory and didn't think there would be any issues with putting an extra 2gb memory in!
I have the ASUS P5K motherboard if that helps, I've not flashed the Bios at all since buying it 6 months ago. And I'm running Vista x64.
