hi there,
just bought a set of kingston 16gb hyperx from this weeks only and when i put all 4 in i get blue screen of death after about 5 minutes or when i do anything taxing, i took 2 out from slot 2 and 4 and everything works fine, so ive just done memtest and it passed with no errors..???

can anyone help me sort this out ??

thanks in advance, James

nothings overclocked,

my system specs:
mobo: gigabyte p55a-ud3
cpu: i3 2.93ghz
new ram: Kingston HyperX Genesis 16GB (4x4GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Dual/Quad Channel Kit
gfx: ati radeon HD 4850
old ram: corsair xms3 1333mhz

ive change the frequency profile to "profile1" which is 1600mhz to match the new ram but that hasnt worked, not sure if theres something i need to do to enable dual or quad channel ??
thanks for the help :)

Is this the first time you've populated all four slots?
I know this sounds retarded, but it might be worth checking if you have a pin misaligned on your motherboard in the CPU socket, as I had that problem earlier this year with a new build I was doing, and this was the culprit!

ill check that if nothing else works as i would have to take the mobo out,

and yes it all works fine with 2 but with for it either gets bsod after about 5 minutes or fails to boot os

try 1 stick at at time mate. could be the slots on the board, but more than likely the ram, 1 of my sticks has gone faulty this week and i sent a set back to corsair in holland. To find out which it was for me i tried 1 set and then the other, was easy to find the bad set.

Test Voltage: 1.50-1.65V

It varies. Also, each board is different and may require some tweaking, especially when all slots are occupied with big modules. Whatever it set it self to, try slightly higher.

right, tried all of the voltage changes, didnt help, so ive taken the two out which i think one is faulty and tried the two working ones in slots 2 and 4 to see if it was the sockets but it seems to be all ok so ill work out now which of the two sticks i took out is faulty

Have you over tightened your cooler? That can cause ram issues.

Failing that, try updating your BIOS to the newest version and/or continue to tinker with suggested volts.
