New RAM?

Thinking of doing some upgrades soon. Main things will be new CPU (dual core to a quad core) & a new gfx card. Not sure if I'll upgrade the mobo as well (waiting on another thread for advise). But what about the RAM? RAM is obviously very cheap these days so it's an affordable upgrade. I'm still running XP so more than 2GB of dual channel RAM seems a bit pointless. But would it be worth me swapping out my current RAM (see signature) for something better? My mobo takes DD3 RAM but which type do I go for? How do I find out the fastest DDR3 RAM my mobo will take or should I just buy the fastest DD3 I can get?

Cheers.

At the moment I have DDR2 PC6400 RAM. Is the PC8500 RAM going to offer a significant improvement or should I just stick with what I have for now? As I said the cost is not much at all but If it's not going to make much of a difference is it worth it?

You would notice a little increase yes, however the greater advantage would be if you overclock. The 8500 ram will give that little bit more to push it further :).
