I'm not telling the OP to get a G80 i'm telling him that he might as well wait for the new release to check pricing on the last Gen cards.

Check out the latest story on the Inquirer. The 12.5k is with quad core. With a Conroe 2.93 it is pulling 10,500 only !![/

10.5 with dual core for g80 , ok it is the inquirer but

what your forgetting is gx2 is a DUAL card 2 count em gpu`s , the g80 is single core ,
dx10 as far as i am concerened is pie in the sky , so i am not even going down that route , yes 2 x1950xt would cost more than a g80 but there gona be faster

you dont need to buy 2 first off
and as for no one wanting to buy x1950xt after the g80 is released what rot old chap!
there is a well known auction site where cards reguerly go for crazy money! a 6600 went for £100 yesterday

what you should have said is you wont be interested in x1950xt because you have a evga card and have to use the step up program

Nobody who wants to use their graphics card for any gaming whatsoever should even think about getting a card until the G80 is out the door.

Thats not an opinion, thats just common sense, to disagree in full knowledge of its release....well you'd have to be a total cretin really wouldn't you

And dont try and worm you way out of spouting nonsense about the GX2.
Its a single slot card.Leaves one slot free.

People will buy them but has they will not have DX 10 features when DX 10 features will be needed.

They will lose value considerably.Your example is lame.

a lot of people dont have £500 to spend on a card ! new or not , OP if you want your machine to run all the games out now and in the next few months get a x1900xt x1950 xt or any nvidia equivilant 7900 gto ? they will play everything maxed no problem with your uber rig!
wait till dx10 cards come down in price and till dx10 is ACTUALLY out

not worming out gx2 uses 2 gpu core soldered together , the g80 is not core thats my point ,
my god man people are still buying dx8 cards for crazy money , you see not everyone wants the very latest (or has the money to ) hardware , not everyone is so desperate to spend £500 for a dx10 card that will be no use for dx10 fetures till at least march!

There will be no NVIDIA price drops!

7950 GX2 stock in the channel is nearly all gone. BFG, Leadtek, Gainward all have NO STOCK LEFT and have stopped production. There is only EVGA who have stock left and its something like 300 units for the entire of the UK. So prices will not change much at all, might even increase.

As you can expect G80 to be around £500 with allocation been so tight....
