Right i want a new rig for gaming moneys not an object within reason (Gotta cost less than a car or house:D)

Im a gamer than does the occassional video editing, web design and coding.

Suggestions please :D

How can it be money no object within reason? you can buy a card for £600 so thats too much?

But hes after a master system! somit that keep him going for years and years...

i recommend.....

What kind of priorities do you have? Quiet? Cool? Masses of storage space? Want it to last you 18 months or five years? Seriously, want kind of budget? You could spent £900 on two GTX 295s and £2K on four 32GB SSDs but even if you have that kind of money you wouldn't need to spend that.

Do you need a monitor? OS? Peripherals such as a mouse/keyboard, sound system?

We need at least some kind of brief!

Nope i build a new rig every 3-4 years and previous rigs have cost anywhere upto 5k, the only thing i wnat to avoid is people suggesting things like server boards with dual xeons/opterons it must be based on current mainstream components although if theres something that would benefit the system then suggest it and also i would like to OC this machine so a good watercooling setup is essential.

just a base system, monitors ect i will sort out another time, to be honest i work in the industry and will get a lot of it free, i have a good understanding but you guys can give me many different views on other hardware that i dont currently sell.

lol nice :D ok to get it going this is what im thinking:

MSI Eclipse Plus (When its release)
Corsair TR3X6G2000C7D x 2 (When its release)
SSD your opinions on whats best
BFG 285 GTX OCX x 2 SLI
Case something big that can take good WC setup
Sound no idea but leaning towards X-FI
PSU corsair 1000HX
WC setup no idea as first proper WC rig maybe even a TEC kit if there a reliable one out there

i would raid0 the SSDs, have that for OS and apps, then the spinpoint for media.

that case would fit watercooling for all of that with no modding. if you changed stock fans and added a fan controller could also run pretty damn quiet (zalman one of the quietest 1000w psu's). swap out alternatives for the gtx295, maybe sli or xfire (no waterblock for 295 yet)

SLI 285 GTX will be faster in sli than a single 295 by quite a way midnight so thats the way i was leaning as the 295 gtx is to older 260 gtx's stuck on 2 pcb's :)

On the SSD i notice you have gone for Intel's is this due to the OCZ having some reliability issues?

yeah good call on gfx cards.
if you were planning on watercooling this, id prolly dual loop. one for cpu/mobo and one for the cards.
this can be done in the silverstone tj07. triple rad in the bottom for gfx, double rad in top for cpu.
i believe the intel extremes are faster than OCZ's soon-to-be-released vertex series and there's no reviews out for vertex series yet. obviously your choice, might be best to hold out on SSDs until vertexes are released/reviewed as those intels are stupid money:D whichever you get, definitely a raid would be worth it.

nice rigs , but stock cooling ????

No one has even suggested a aftermarket cooler , or even the water cooling Ultim8 asked for....

You could get another couple of hundred quid on top of that £62280.20 that spitzoid recomended :p

Defo needs a good WC setup i want to be able to OC this rig, can anyone recommedn what components to use for this as new realm for me on WC stuff as i dont know whats good and not without reasearching it for a few days which i really cba to do.

Once i get a spec im happy with i will start getting the bits together.....still waiting for the MSI Eclipse Plus though but get released then be pooh :(

will need to pick barbs tubing coolant and fans of your choice, depends what your looking for. no blocks for the 295 though =/ you could swap them out for a pair of 4870x2's and water cool them.

I can get blocks for the 295's so that wouldnt be a problem but i dont know whether to go 2 sli or maybe tri sli with 285gtx's
