Hello,

I am currently browsing around Overclockers Store to see the price difference.

I am currently upgrading my rig and I need some help.

I have a XFX-7950 3GB GPU and would like a decent machine that follows.

I am staying on AMD, so do not show me intel stuff.

Anyway, here are 3 items I am looking at

CPU: CPU Link

Motherboard: Motherboard Link
Or this one: Link

RAM: RAM Link
(This I think there is a problem. I was reading the info and it shows Intel Configuration... and I want AMD so would it still work)

If not, could someone help me with finding some decent RAM that would work well with the board and chip?
I am looking for roughly 12GB or 16GB of RAM DDR3 and above 1333Mhz.
I was told the motherboard above would be bad.

Basically here is my post with the guy commenting: Steam Hardware Question

I do not know if he is talking crap, but best if I ask.

Thank you very much.

Looking around **** because they are cheap and can order all in one massive chunk basically.

Thank you!

Those links will not work because they're competitors, and you will need to remove that Steam link as it has competitor links.

Not really sure but I would rather stay on AMD dude.

Just they are what I am looking at, and if you read the comment on the Steam post. The second guy makes NO sense!

Also not really going to buy the ones above from those people... I am just putting them hear because they are easier to find.

You need to remove competitor links and provide a budget.

This is on the basis you have everything else, just need mobo, CPU & RAM.

You should read these before making your choice. Also note, AMD runs hotter, less efficient and is more power hungry compared to Intel. They also don't overclock as well.

Not to mention the fact that they don't perform as well, and are absolutely god-awful for gaming systems in comparison to Intel chips... An i3 3220 is about on par with an FX-8350 for most games for example. Which is silly. And the i5/i7 will utterly decimate it.

and if you can't take this advise, in all honesty, without being too judgemental, your wasting your money.

Trust me. I have one and wish I'd not gotten it.

I don't dislike AMD by any means either, I am using an AMD based system right now (Phenom II 955BE), and if I were to build a well rounded system which will be used for many highly threaded workloads and not for gaming, with a budget which would not stretch to i7 levels, I would not hesitate to buy an FX-8 core CPU. But for gaming, they are simply not a good option at all.
