Hi All,

Looking to buy the below in the next month so would appreciate any comments or recommendations.

Uses are for gaming and video editing. I'll run with RAID 0 on the disks with a backup IDE drive for data.

Looking to stay at DDR2 memory at the moment and jump to DDR3 in 18 months, hense the cheaper ASUS mobo. (I like ASUS, always servered me well).

My budget is £800 and I have a screen and Kb.

I'd remove the link to the competitor, else you'll be going on holiday :)

And get the Tuniq Tower anyway...

Cheers. Appologies for the hyperlink.

Looked at the spec on the Tuniq Tower 120 and its sounds excellent but I read in one of the reviews that it can get a bit noisey as you turn the colling up.

as you turn the colling up
So leave it low :P or replace the fan, mines running an e2140 at 3ghz idleing ~26c and thats on about 600rpm which is virtually silent.
Go for a corsair PSU instead, and personally id get a quad core (Q6600) instead, seeing as there around the same price.

Thanks guys. Couple of questions:

1, PSU: Do you recommend the Corsair 620W Modular? Why?
2, Why Quad core apart from price? The apps arn't here yet for Q4 so is there another benefit?

1. They're built by Seasonic I believe and people have found them to be very high quality supplies.

2. Why not? :) More and more applications are utilizing multiple cores, may as well take the step forward if it's in reach.

You said your going to be using your machine for gaming and video editing?

Your crazy if you dont get a Quad Core.

:D I a crazy guy m8e

However, I originally looked at the e6600, then the e6750, then the e6850, now the Q6600, so I'm changing all the time. If I don't choose and buy soon I'll be looking at the Intel OctaQuad9900 with DDR7!

Oh, one last thing, is the Q6600 OK with the Asus P5N-e I'm looking at?
