new rig time

Looks good, but 975 seems to be doing better than nforce at the moment, so for £10 extra the wifi seems a better bet. Proven itself as well.

after reading various threads something is telling me to go with the DS3 so i can get the most out of my processor but i dont have a clue about overclocking.

how easy would it be to OC seeing as many people have the same processor and board am i thinking of going for.

would it be as easy as to get the settings used by someone else and change them in the BIOS or is there more to it.

the ds3 doesnt seem as good as the asus. with the asus i am able to have crossfire, which i may use, has heatpipe technology and probably has other features...

Taken from http://enthusiast.hardocp.com/article.html?art=MTE2MywxLCxoZW50aHVzaWFzdA==

the asus has its built in oOC utility which manipulates voltages etc

AiBooster

ASUS chose to include their AiBooster Windows based overclocking utility in with the board drivers. The version of AiBooster shown is 2.02.04. The AiBooster software supports a variety of functions including real time display of system voltages, fan speeds, temperatures, CPU FSB and speed, and multiple overclocking methods to choose from. The N0S button allows you to activate the dynamic overclocking technology, which will manipulate system voltages and FSB speeds in order to push the system to the desired overclocking level when needed. The Performance Mode option allows you to pick a static overclocking level based on either percentages or a combination of memory and CPU FSBs. The Tuning menu allows for full manual control of CPU FSB and voltage.

You don't want to be overclocking in windows. Its should really be done in the bios.

The gigabyte's come with easytune which allows overclocking to be done in windows.

i still dont know 100% if i will be o'cing so i may just go for the Asus. dont think that im not taking advice, i think it would be better for me just, thats all
