So I'm wanting to build a new rig as my old one is on it's last legs. I've been looking at some parts and I've put together a rough idea of a PC and was just wondering if anyone had any advice for what I can do to improve it. I've got a budget of £2500 and the PC will be used for playing game at max settings and some video editing.

This is currently what I've come up with (I've already got a hard drive and a bluray drive, so that's why they're not on there)

Intel Core i7-3770K 3.5GHz Quad-Core Processor

Intel BXRTS2011LC 74.0 CFM CPU Cooler

Asus P8Z77-V PREMIUM ATX LGA1155 Motherboard

Corsair Vengeance 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3-1600 Memory

Samsung 840 Series 120GB 2.5" Solid State Disk

EVGA GeForce GTX 680 4GB Video Card (3-Way SLI)

NZXT Phantom (Black) ATX Full Tower Case

That is more than enough mate. You could tone down the CPU to an i5 since an i7 wouldnt give you any extra performance and get yourself a 120hz monitor since youd be able to drive 120fps in a lot of games

You might want to remove the link, as it is against forum rules to link to competitors. Just a friendly heads up.:)

I'm not good with power supplies but I don't think a 850 watt could handle 3 of those cards... Just a thought.

It probably could (just).. Though those cards will get pretty hot..

You may aswell think about a custom loop to keep those cool and get them overclocked. :)

Change cooler to something a little better (you can do much better for that price), drop that i7 to an i5, perhaps try for a better PSU (XFX, Enermax that sort of stuff) and maybe upgrade the board to a Gigabyte or a Asrock (ASUS Boards look ugly imo)

It won't, under full load and if they are overclocked, no way.

680 with a decent OC is going to pull around 260 each, don't even start on the heat...

Although a game will never have it under full load, it is never a good idea to go with the assumption that it never realistically happens.

If you are going to spend £1500 on GPU's, dont cheap out on a PSU.

YOUR BASKET
1 x Seasonic X-Series 1050w '80 Plus Gold' Modular Power Supply £189.98
Total : £201.38 (includes shipping : £9.50).

This should give you some headroom, it is normal for single GPU systems to have at least a 550, dual sli/xfire to have 750-850 depending on card, 3 cards, 1k and higher.
