New router for FTTC

Hi,

Bt engineer has just been round however my isp hasn't sent me a router neither is my one compatible, so I'm internetless!

Are any of these routers compatible with FTTC ? much appreciated

They are both cable and would work. Are you on a limited budget?

preferably a cheap router to get me going. Would you suggest anything different?

Would definitely get N+ if on FTTC.

You can connect your PC directly to the modem with a network cable. You then just configure the PC to dial the PPPoE connection. Not a good long-term solution, but it could get you working.

got it all working up now. They didn't send us anything, and told us that they could send us "something" however it would take a week, so I just bought one instead.

Just a side note, is there a reasoning as to why I had speeds of 36Mb/s earlier and then they gradually decreased and it is now as little as 2Mb/s...

we've been with them since they were part of time computers so we've never considered moving isp

Make sure WAN ping is on within your router settings.

Seems like a right ***** ISP to me, I bet they skimp on customer bandwidth and they don't even send out a router to use the service.... lol

Are you within the cooling off period? as I would be looking for a new isp tbh.
