New Router/Modem recommendation

Currently I'm with Plusnet using their FTTC service and they have supplied me with a BT modem box and a separate router which is pretty crap.

I would like to do away with both of these devices and replace it with just one which has at least 1 gigabit network port and good wireless A/C coverage. The wireless part is important as my HTPC is connected via a wireless dongle plus I want better performance for my phone and tablet.

Any suggestions?

Although it's more expensive, I recently went with..

Ubiquiti Edgerouter Lite (essentially a 2 port router, one for main network, second for secondary network)
24 port gigabit switch (any will do)
Ubiquiti AP-AC-Pro

I'm with Plusnet too.

Mikrotik RB2011UiAS-2HnD-IN is a good all-in-one solution.

With both of these options, you connect up to the BT modem.

edit, also the Archer VR900 seems to get good reviews.

TP-Link Archer VR900. Fantastic VDSL modem and router, love mine it's rock solid in every aspect.

No sync drop outs, great wifi coverage and speeds, can't complain at all.
