please excuse my sheer lack of knowledge when it comes to networks stuff
ok, my BT Voyager 210 ASDL Router is starting to play up, random cut outs and drops. Ive speken to FAST, my isp and they have assured me all is fine with the network, so i am thinking its the 6 year old, sat infront of a hot radiator router thats begining to fail.
The router is downstairs and has an ethanet cable running to my computer unstairs.
So, im after a Router that can be used in the exact same way as the one i have now with the ethenet cable inserted, would also like it to be wireless so i can use my iphone too. What would you reccomend ?
The bits I dont understand with wireless, the router will be pluged into the BT phone socket, and will then have the ethernet cable in, and run up to my computer making my connection wired, my iphone 4 will run off the wireless connection, if i have a wireless adaptor in my computer it will then not need the ethanet cable and making the whole network wireless ? is this correct ?
If anyone could just put me on the right tracks it would be very much appreciated, and sorry for the uber noobness wireless questions
