New Router Needed

Im thinking of getting a new router because the one i have doesnt have switch capabilities which causes a problem with connections if more that one computer needs internet access.

my current router is a Netgear Cable/DSL Router model RP614v2.

i have seen a similar router by Netgear with switch capabilities but it also has a modem with it which i dont need. reason being is that my internet connection is provided by NTL and the internet runs through the set-top box straight to the router.

cut a long story short i need a router with a switch that doesnt use a modem. any one have any ideas??

Linksys WRT54GL? Disable the wireless if you don't want it. Range of third-party firmware that'll blow the Netgear away on feature set.

The shop reckons the RP614 has a 4 port switch though

Or you could add a switch to the router you've got.

yeah i checked the router RP614 and it doesnt have a switch. must be an older model. im gonna go and buy a seperate switch now. thanks anyway
