Hey guys, so I built my new rig and everything seemed to go fine.. Then when it was time to switch it on nothing happened... I've spent over an hour trying everything and nothing will turn it on, so I'm not sure what I can be... The spec is follows

Case: haf x
Mobo: asus p87 PRO (I think that's the name of it sandy bridge one)
Cpu: i7 2600k
Corsair h50 with 2 akasa vipers
8gb ddr3 corsair vengeance ram
ati 6950
PSU: corsair hx 750watt

So I've plugged both power from the psu into the mobo.. And I've followed the asus book in plugging in the power switch.

But nothing.. I've tried unplugging and replugging.. Unplugged everything but mobo and still nothing! It refuses to turn on and I'm not sure what to do..

I've done it many times, but the switch on the PSU has been flipped yes? The mobo is screwed into the brass standoffs as well? Maybe something is shorting somewhere?

yess yess yess ive switched it both directions like 500 times and still nothing! is there anyway to rule out the motherboard as being the problem? i think i saw the green light on for a second if that makes a difference.. but cant get it back

check the fuse?

annyoing as it sounds but put it all back to old parts and test psu. rule out psu isnt blown.

Yeah might be the next step, and I'd probably unplug everything power related and leave it for a good half hour etc. then try again externally.

Remove the PSU and link out pins 13 & 14 on the main ATX (green & black cables) connector and have a fan connected to a molex and see if the PSU starts.

alright, i know its astupid question but is it possible that if i plugged in the pwr led, pwr switch etc wrong even though ive plugged it in the given slots? (i think) :D

This would defintely cause it, the power switch needs to be correctly connected for it to work, polarity doesn't matter but it does need to be connected to the correct header.
