new sata drive installed but system still boots ide slave ?

hi all

any help would be great here guys as i havent a clue lol

so i installed my new maxtor 200gb SATA and got xp installed on it no probs

so then i attached my old 60gb ide so i could transfer my pictures etc

when i attach the ide drive it boots that drive and not the SATA ?

i have set the bios not to boot any ide drive and i set the drive itself to master and slave but it still boots to it

motherboard is a MSI K8N Neo2 Platinum

please help as i need my files transfered asap

You have to make sure they are both plugged in a set the boot order to SATA first. The drive (if plugged into the nF3 ports) should show up in BIOS allowing you to select it over the IDE drive.
