New sata raid New problem.....

Hello folks,

Just recently installed a new sata raid on my MSO NEO Plat 2 mobo.

Having just install nero afte rthe re-install and trying to burn dvd/cd's i have found that audio cds skip as if the data is not streaming form the hard drives. ( i know it sounds weird). What i have also noticed is that one of the 2 drives seems to be ticking as if its read/writing data to and from even when idle.

I was wondering if anyone has experienced the same sort of issues or anything similar.

Ticking Harddrives are never a good sign, I'd run the manufacturers diags on it and look at getting an RMA sorted out!

can u run the diags on the drives whilst raided.?

You can the majority of the time yes.

On some of them, not in Windows.

If you get the boot-disk version you can tho (on all the ones i've seen).

Just to let you know both disks report fine. This issue is with Nero 7. Never thought about it really but rolled nero back to 6 and all is fine.

The hard drive is not a tick it seems its an access, have had a dig aorund within windows and see if theres anything logging events etc and this ha also seemed to have calmed down.
