I'm looking for some suggestions here for the best 40"+ screen that money can buy for about £2000, less is obviously preferred.
The screen is not for me but for my brother. He has a preference towards plasma but a decent LCD could be good.
The last aspect is 1080p capable or not 1080p capable. Is the resolution difference really THAT noticeable on a screen of around 40 inches from 8-10 feet away?
The majority of use will be the 360, Sky TV a few films and a bit of regular TV.
Hoping to shortlist one or two plasmas and a couple of LCD's to go see in the flesh.
Ahh one last thing - he wants to hook his PC up to the screen to browse the net. How important will 1:1 pixel mapping be for this? To my mind if it is going ot be used for lots of browsing then the higher resolution screens and 1:1 pixel mapping will be important but I could be utterly wrong.
So I'd say use will be 40% browsing, 40% 360, 10% DVD, 10% Sky.
On the issue of screen burn and plasma screens, are there screensaver programs that you can run through the PC specifically intended to "burn the screen in" for the first 200 hours or so?
