New Seagate SSHD drive

I asked a similar question earlier, as I'm considering this one for a games drive. No response yet. Reading around it does seem to offer real world performance gains for application load times, etc... but I'd imagine that, if your video files are >8GB then they'll not load into the solid state portion of the drive and so will run as quick as a regular HDD.

Personally, I'm inclined to take this over a regular HDD, but my choice is between one of these and another SSD, and there it comes to 120GB vs 1TB.

Well, given I have an SSD for my OS already, I'd probably rather opt for the WD Black simply because there's more out there on it and it does seem specifically geared towards video use etc. The SSHD may be just as good, but it's largely untested and I'd be taking more of a gamble. Not to mention some of the quality issues Seagate seem to have lately.

Yeah - I think that the case for video use is less defined than for gaming. I might take a punt for my needs and report back on the results.
