It looks totally awesome.

Went to the filming of next weeks episode yesterday so I have seen the full episode for next week, as well as some of the Boxing day special.

Looks like we are in for a real treat!

The day itself was pretty good, but I was expecting a bit more interaction from the three of them and the audience off camera.

Clarkson was funny and talked to everyone quite a lot but the other two just did their parts and left pretty much.

Good guest, Danny Boyle and a slight suprise too regarding the Stig!

Wait TG is back next week?! I thought it was just a Christmas special?

Its on on Tuesday next week.

The boys take the Ferrari 458, Porsche 911 GT3 RS and the new Mercedes SLS to America and drive from Nascar country to the Big Apple.

Me and the girlfriend should be in the background when they have a shot of the 458 and SLS in the studio (some strange bloke stood infront of everyone desperate to get on TV who may block us).

Then they recorded the introduction and a few other bits for the Boxing Day special with the same audience, which I know the details of but won't say unless they are available online already?

It's two specials isn't it?
MOTORING: Top Gear
On: BBC 2 South West (102)
Date: Saturday 25th December 2010 (starting in 9 days)
Time: 19:00 to 20:00 (1 hour long)

Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May compare the Mercedes SLS, the Porsche 911 GT3 RS and the Ferrari 458 Italia in an epic road trip up America's east coast. Along the way they undertake a series of challenges culminating in a fight to find the fastest way into New York, all in the name of crowning the world's greatest sports car. Plus, another celebrity takes to the track as the star in a Reasonably Priced Car.

MOTORING: Top Gear Special
On: BBC 2 South West (102)
Date: Sunday 26th December 2010 (starting in 10 days)
Time: 20:00 to 21:15 (1 hour and 15 minutes long)

In a special extended version of the programme, Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May embark on an appropriately seasonal road trip as they attempt to follow the path of the Three Wise Men across the Middle East. They do so in a trio of open top sports cars, each wholly unsuited to the conflict ridden mountains of southern Turkey, the dangerous warzones of Iraq and the searing deserts of Syria. Along the way they test the limits of mechanical and physical endurance as well as asking the vital question, what exactly is myrrh and where do you buy it?

They said at TGL that it was back in January?

At TGL (Birmingham), they said it was back from Christmas. So I was under the impression that the Christmas Special(s) marked the start of a new season.

EDIT: It does appear to be on on Tuesday the 21st though :/ - http://www.tvguide.co.uk/detail.asp?id=81523455

EDIT2: The BBC website lists Tuesday's episode as episode 7 of 7 from Series 15 (the one that finished in September), odd.

These two are the Christmas specials and the new series starts 'early in the new year'.

The pertinent point remains: two new shows coming up, the first on Tuesday (that’s TUESDAY, not Sunday) 21 December at 8pm on BBC2, the second on Boxing Day at 8pm on BBC2. Then we’ve got the new series proper starting early in the New Year.

The American road trip sounds awesome and so does the 'three wise men' trip.

Just tell me this, did the GT3 RS own or did they put Clarkson in it?

They've probably put Hammond in it. Saw Clarkson on The One Show last week and he conceeded that he actually liked the GT3 RS! Clarkson is probably in the SLS as he's already done his little review on the Ferrari and the SLS is new.

I've not seen it, but I should imagine that it will be Hammond in the Porka, Jeremy in the Merc and May in the Ferrari. Based on their previous preferences anyway.

EDIT: I need to type faster :(

In Clarksons new DVD he admitted to actually liking the new GT3

He's admitted it loads of times actually, did it with the 6 GT3 (said it was the best car he'd driven that year) and loved the 6 GT3 RS too. It's the normal 911's he has issue with but then as he said on Radio 5 this week most of the stuff he says is simply to be contrary....like we needed telling Mr Clarkson.

Surprise about the stig???? What like there isnt one, certainly not in the specials. Clarkson said (in a radio 1 interview last week) they didnt have a replacement and werent decided on what to do about it until january 2011.

There'd be no need for the Stig in the specials anyway, normally the whole duration is based on the challenge. Apart from the star they have.

No, like they needed another racing driver to help coach the celebrities when they are doing their laps.

They got one but not who I expected... This person was present in the studio but I dont think will be on TV, they didnt record anything with them anyway.

Who was the Stig for the live shows then? I was under the impression they had a "Stig farm" and simply replaced him for another performance car driver.
