About £800 mobo,CPU,PSU,mem 1gb & heatsink.have i missed anything lol :)

So is this right then? you have £800 for those 4 components?

Gaz is offline now by the looks of things, so i'll spec one up for you if you like.

Yes if you would please buddy *** would u suggest AMD/P4?

Whats all this new DUAL CORE stuff about 2 PCI cards & everything are they any good? Are they worth the money?Faster the same as normal PC's?

Core 2 Duo are the latest greatest Intel cpu's, they also did a Core Duo, not quite as great though.

Going to fit the Core 2 in your budget easy, and it'll rock!!....... you'll love it and wanna keep it.

The 2 PCI card thing you talk about is proberly SLI/Crossfire.

SLI is the ability to run 2 graphics cards along side each other for more raw performance, favourable for large resolutions.

Crossfire is ATi's version, SLI is Nvidia's.

Do you want/need a graphics card included in the spec?...... can squeeze that into no problem.

Yes t31os gaming PC it will be used for......so if u do the DUAL CORE thingy see about putting 2 gfx in???

Keeping costs down, and using a cooler that will fit in any case that i know of.

Unless you plan or using 1600 x 1050 or upwards resolution it would be a waste of time, plus you'd ideally need a good SLI board that does pci-e x16 speed on both slots, not many boards that do that for conroe without spending a fair amount on the board.

You'd be sacrificing the budget to do that, so would have to drop down on other components.

A single card should be good on anything upto 19 or 20 inch widescreen especially with 512mb and it being a conroe powered system.

Both specs should clock great........ the 6300 is still a great clocker, just see all the Conroe threads and member signatures.

Also bear in mind, the Ninja cooler is huge, i have one here and its very tall, so you need a wide enough case.

EVGA (card in first spec) also offer an upgrade service apparently, so upgrading later on will be cheaper.

Like i said both systems will clock great, obviously dependant on the clocker aswell as the hardware, but neither will be slow, so don't let the figures sway you.

You could always go with the first spec and add a 8800 if you want.......

Remember, all this new kit is gonna draw a lot of power, so at the very minimum a 400W quality PSU for a 7900/7950 system or 500W minimum with a 8800.

You may also get more performance from an ATI card, but personally i find them more problematic, so for ease of use i usually spec systems with Nvidia cards.

So this DUAL core CPU is only 1 but the power of 2? & is this just 1 gfx card?

Yep, for example the e6300 is 2 x 1.86ghz, with a good chance you can clock that upto 3.0ghtz and maybe some more.

Here's a handy link that makes for good comparisons between CPU's.
http://www23.tomshardware.com/cpu.html?modelx=33&model1=433&model2=470&chart=174

The CPU at stock will be a great performer anyway, but should you want to clock, its currently one of if not 'the' most favorable overclocking cpus.

Just look in the Overclocking section.

See enough conroe related threads to be convinced yet??

What resolutions does the screen do?.......

I can help spec, but my personal experience on larger displays is somewhat limited, perhaps someone else could chip in and make a suggestion?......

Or just pop into the Monitor section and see what sort of setups the pro's use in there.
