New Set Up

Depends on the specific screen, if its doing 1280 x 900/960, then a 512mb 7950 or 7900 would be fine, and perhaps even upto 1600 x 1200.

If you're doing something higher than this, it really isnt my area of knowledge, someone using a screen of that size or a conroe system will have more insight into requirements graphics card wise.

Perhaps you could swap the board out from SLI one (one with dual x16 slots) and add 2nd card later, just getting one to start with then adding the 2nd once you find you need more power.

If 1 card doesnt cut it to begin with though it would be money better spent on a better card in the first place.

Hopefully others are reading this that can fill in the blanks, because i'd hate to say yeah it'll be fine then for you to find it struggles on something.

Its down to you though really, spend some time around the forums, there's a wealth of info already posted, and plenty of helpful people, i'm sure you'll be happy and confident in whatever decision you make in the end. ;)

My friends PC runs a e6300 @ 2.5, 2gb DDR26400, 7900GTX 512mb on his 20 inch widescreen @1600 x 1050 and maxs out all his games, he manages 100 - 200fps in any games he's chucked at it so far.
