OK so I'm finally going to sort out my sound system.

Going to sell my Z-5500s when I can and help towards funds of a new set up.

Im still not sure how to go about this though...

Option 1

2nd hand receiver & new speakers

Option 2

2nd hand receiver & 2nd hand speakers

Got aboout £300, thinking about 2 bookshelf speakers so more money can be put into the receiver. Then adding / upgrading when I can.

With regards to the receiver i would be connecting my PS3 (optical) and PC if that possible with my budget.

So if we say, £200 for the receiver and £100 for a pair of bookshelf what should I be looking out for? (AVForums & ebay)

Yer thats what I meant. It's too early. :(

I was thinking of trying to pick up a Onkyo 606 second hand then maybe some new speakers... or should I look second hand for them aswell?

It's the AMP you want to worry about, you can pick up some nice sounding speakers off the bay for £40 if you look carefully.

I've got a Cyrus One amp and some Royd speakers and it's perfect. Dont need to spend much unless you're an audiophile.
