Well ive had my current setup for over a year now, so have decided to get a new one. Listed below is what i plan to buy within the next few weeks.

Just want some thoughts from you guys on what recommendations you have to make it a bit better or gain same performance for a lower price.

Thanks.

Why the velociraptor? Just get a 1tb samsung F3 or a WD black.

The reviews of the GTX480 are now out, it don't look good, get a ATI5870.

A cheaper i7 CPU will be perfectly capable.

Edit. Just noticed the two velociraptors! Why? You already specced two SSD!

What is wrong with your current setup??

It seems a very minimal upgrade for over £3000!!

Was planning to put games on the raptors, and OS and programs on the SSD's
Was just reading the reviews on the 480s and im very supprised. should have checked before choosing the Nvidia cards. Ive always had Nvidia cards as i found ATI make crap drivers for there cards.

Well that's a heck of a big present. :p Hope they appreciate it.

And no, not yet, but as there's full reviews out I'm guessing they'll be released in the next month?

If the OP wants to spend the money then that's up to him. Annoys me when ppl have a go

He wants the best, obviously. And just wants confirmation/ advice. I'm not surprised by his "bored" comment, it is boring. He clearly has the money.

Hey guys. Thanks for the replys. Yeah i know im probably wasting money, but ive always done it this way. I purchase a setup and during that time i save up for the next. A year to save 3 grand aint that hard. :)

Mr May thanks for the advice on that setup. Will look into it. Im gonna hold out for the ATI HD5870 2GB cards. Shame about the Nvidia card. Dont know what they were thinking about :(

Also might wait for the Asus Rampage III Extreme. :)

Kids want a fast PC so id rather just let them use it. Also use it as a backup if anything went wrong with the new setup :)
