I've just finished my Shuttle build and started to install Windows XP Pro 64 it was intsalling fine until it said can't copy certmgr.dll so I retried it but it still couldn't so I skipped it to see if i would happen to the next file and it did the same so i retried, tht wouldn't work so I restarted the whole installation then the comp restarted and now it won't come up with the install just a black screen saying:

Veryfying DMI Pool Data.....................
NTLDR Is Missing
Press Ctrl+Alt+Del To Restart

So I did and it will just come up with 'above' again so I tried a CMOS restart and then I could get into the BIOS but I don't know what to do need help PLEASE!!!!!

you may need the floppy disc with the raid/ide drivers.
if i recall pressing f6 at the begining of the windows setup

Are you sure? The NTLDR missing normally means a duff installation, which would make sense. That leads me to conclude one of the following things:

Your CD is duff
Your CD drive is duff

Try disconnecting the HDD and see if it boots to the CD then.

I have tried disconnecting the hard drive but it says please insert the disk drive and press enter. Doesn't disk drive mean hdd and when i do it then goes to the screen with that writting which i said about in the first post. Oh yeh would formatting the hdd work? And how do you format a hdd from BIOS?

i get that when i reset my bios and it messes up my raid array. try resetting your bios.

oh and you format the hdd when loading windows or with a bootable utility. you cant format through bios

Sounds like you need to format and reinstall windows. So when you restart with the windows CD in the drive, do you not get the message that says "Press any key to boot from CD/DVD..."?

If you dont see this then check in the BIOS that your cd/dvd is appearing.

Yeah try booting from the XP CD and formatting the drive. On the offchance the XP CD is borked try Gparted from a CD or USB stick (if you have USB slots on your shuttle machine..).

I had this on my dell, the problem is you dont have the right IDE Drivers for your motherboard, mine was a dell dimension 4400 what i had to do was;

install in as a second drive in another machine then install xp onto it along with the drivers then just put it back in the dell and perfect.

Also when you get the actual thing working you may need more drivers then to get LAN access, onboard graphics and things like that.

Hope this helps.
