new skynet challenge

how do I know if I am setup right and doing the max that my PC can ?

Your 8 core machine should look smething like this:

Also realtemp as well as monitoring temps will show what percentage of the CPU you are running.

Some interesting stats -
My i7 4770k OC'd to 4.3GHz is 5-6x faster per core than my 5 yr old ULV notebook (1.2GHz/core, dual core) so ~22x faster
My Galaxy Note 2 (not overclocked; 2 yr old CPU) is roughly the same speed per core as my notebook so 2x faster
My notebook is 1.5-3x faster per core than my 4 yr old Desire HD so 3-6x faster

Amazing to see how far technology has progressed, I know my notebook's hardly setting the world on fire with its CPU performance but to be outperformed by a factor of 2 by a phone just 3 years newer?

Also my 2yr old phone is only 10x slower than my (current generation) overclocked 8-thread i7  what sort of numbers are new phones getting??

Last 12 hours according to Free-DC they've outproduced us by 100k :(

We've had a good run of some five days at the top, and we've really forced evga to throw everything they have at us (we've been doing the same). They are still adding some big crunchers even in the last 24 hours, so their production is still going up.

I think both teams can take credit as a team for our efforts.
OcUK have gone from 100k ppd on skynet and were only at about 300k ppd on the 14th when we started to crank it up, yesterday we hit over 1400k

Meanwhile EVGA were doing better at over 200k ppd with a fast start for the first few days at over 400k until they slipped back. By the 14th they were averaging over 500k but really started to kick in on the 23rd and are now at over 1500k.

Another statistic from Free-DC shows that at the start of this challenge new hosts being added were only up to 400 per day. That's shot up to well over 1500 per day and some additions may well be hidden depending on user preferences.

And finally, PPD for the project as a whole was just over 10million per day at the beginning of October. Yesterday it was 12.25million. Some 25% of that is from our two teams.

I'm currently up to 72 pending validation so that should rake in a few points :D

Dont think that figure will ever go down much, just increase, mine has been in the 500`s for a couple weeks now, still thats no excuse to slack off we need to keep pumping them out the last few days, they will get validated 1 day tho.

Im still waiting from 2 that i did 15days ago, so you do have to wait

Today's lunchtime update. Somehow we are hanging in there, but I'm not sure how:

Saturday, our peak, we were ahead by about 250k
Yesterday that had been cut to 150k
Now it's a slender 15k

Well at least we ain't giving it up without a fight, remember as well there are still 5 days left, we would however require some fresh troops to turn the tide again.

I've found another 4 cores this morning but I am giving it all she's got captain.

Anyone messaged 8pack to see if he wants to test a few overclocks using Boinc??? :D

if it wasn't for the mining craze biffa could possably still own 1/2 ? 64 core servers, and maybe loudbob would still be around with his also! , we did well though most of evga users have servers running 32 / 48 cores

Those who have the big multi cpu machines is mostly historic, even over on evga. A year or two ago they were the efficient way of getting points out of projects like folding. But GPUs are now more economic. If people are still running the big rigs it's because they have them from a while ago. At least one of the evga mob remarked how he had to go looking for one of his that he'd retired.
