New sleeping mat?

Received my mug and mouse mat bundle on Tuesday. Here's my thoughts on the mat, I've had a Razer eXact mat, Razer Destructor and Steelseries mat so far and play a lot of counter strike.

I don't think it's a gaming mat as advertised, just a really good mouse mat but I wouldn't pay the full price for it after using it. First thing I noticed was the lift off distance using a Deathadder 3.5G mouse. On the QCK+ you have to hold the mouse very close to the surface to get a response, on the OCUK it's almost twice the height of the QCK+.

Just inside Windows playing with the cursor on the QCK+ lifting the mouse up and then dropping it back down (swiping the cursor left/right) the cursor is very stable with no jitter. On the OCUK mat the cursor sort of slides up or down as you lift off and it's not consistent like the QCK+. This is my main gripe with the mat it's almost feels like acceleration, it feels too smooth, like plastic or velvet it's almost like the texture of a car belt seat? I bet if water spilt on this I could just pull the mat off the desk and let it run off, don't like the coating that's on it.

Also the OCUK is almost twice as thick and feels spongy to play on. Other than that it's still a great mouse mat and I love the sheer size of it, it's more comfy than the QCK+ and it would probably outlast it too with it's coating. I would prefer the ocuk mat as a pc mat but it's just made me realize how good the QCK+ mat is.

Now I'm looking for a 90x45 mat like the QCK+, I'm seriously thinking about paying £45 for the Xtrac ripper as it's the only pad that seems to be what I'm after.

Anyone else notice the liftoff distance with the ocuk mat or is it just my choice of mouse?

Mine arrived yesterday was a backup for my Boogie Bug AimB.Pad XL which is slightly bigger than this even though it's only XL and the OCUK mega mat is XXL.

Definitely worth £6.
