Unfortunately my grandads age old socket set which had everything under the sun in it has gone walkies, unfortunately it was a casualty of a clean out and must have been picked up by accident at the tip :(

After a new set to replace it, any good recommendations, also prefer it to be in a durable and quality case.

Thanks!

I personally love my Bahco set, got it as a gift last year and used it fairly extensively. Tools are good quality, nice weight and finish.

I second Halfords.

Not had an actual set but I prefer to buy the racks. The ones on the metal strip with the little clips.
Their pro ratchets are prety damn good.

Another vote for Halfords professional/advanced stuff, exceptional tools for the money (when on offer). Had my set 10years now with nothing needing replacing

Halfords Pro gets my vote again - have a large set still doing me proud after many years. Recently just got a Bahco 80 tooth ratchet too which seems to be pretty good so far.

I use my halfords pro stuff day in day out. 3/8" ratchet tends to go sloppy every 18 months but rebuild kits are only a few quid

Same, but then again I have been known to hit it with a hammer occasionally :o

I did this to one of their spanners :D:o

I've owned a Halfords one for the last 5-6 years and it's been great with only the magnetic strip in the screwdriver adapter that has broken. Halfords replaced it on the spot.

Halfords customer service is great, I bought one of their low profile jacks 2.5 years ago and they're still willing to replace it for me!
