In the back of mind I had that x-fi don't support bog standard front panels and it had to be an x-fi front panel because the cable is specific to x-fi.
But it's still absolute b******* that you have to pay £60 odd or more just for a front panel and remote for an x-fi laughable really.

yes, most of hte other xfi's uses that big ribbon connector. there are guides that show you how to get the analogue output from that connector without having to use the xfi live drive or whatever it was called though.
