Hi All,

I am looking at purchasing a new ssd drive, however my motherboard only supports sata 2, would it be benificial to purchase a sata 3 ssd and a sata 3 pci-e card?

Thanks

what board is it? add in cards have poorer controllers, there arnt any intel sata3 controlled add in cards as far as im aware, the best option is to still buy a sata3 ssd and install it on the intel sata2 ports

youd see around 250mb read/write,not full 500+ read/write but it would still be faster than any mechanical hdd

id wait,or just buy a sata3 ssd and stick it on the intel sata2 ports,i have that board also besides my z68

yes the samsung will do you fine,go for the cheapest option, they are all the same drive apart from the bundled accessories
