New ssd for games

Probably a stupid question but I got a 1 terrabyte ssd, is it just a matter of installing steam into that ssd drive and loading the games from there to get the best speed and use out of it? I'm not tech heavy and was only used with regular hard drives

I have other hard drives yes, computer is currently away getting upgraded

So is the other hard drive a mechanical drive, and is that going to be the main OS drive?

You could just move whole Steam manually to another drive without need to reinstall stuff.
