I have a couple of year old iMac that has 4gb ram and a 2.4ghz processor and I am getting a little worried that it seems to be slowing down a bit and could do with a complete reinstall at some point.

How useful would an SSD be and what would people recommend for under £200. I need at least 64GB btw.

Any help or advice would be much appreciated.

This SSD is an absolute cracker. I am slowly talking myself into buying one, just waiting for my next pay packet before I make my decision.

However, if you are feeling your system is slowing down, you probably should try a full reinstall using your current hardware first, are you running snow leopard?

Also, you should bear in mind that OSX doesn't have TRIM/garbage cleaning for SSDs , so you may want to consider running a bootable disk or HDD with a trim facility every now and again to keep everything in order.
