Hey Guys,
I just ordered a new laptop for uni...
Dell Inspiron 14 4030
Intel 6100 CPU @2.00Ghz
3 GB DDR3 SDRAM 1333MHz (2 DIMMs)
512MB ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5430
250 GB SATA Hard Drive (5400RPM)
And all that other webcam, mic, bluetooth jazz...
Got it for £330.00 delivered from Dell Outlet ( Refurbished tho ! )
1. Firstly I would like to know if this was a good deal, I know lots about desktop pc hardware but was unsure about laptops and pricing. I really just liked the liked the look of this and figured it would more than do what I want it do.
2. Secondly I have one of the older Intel x 25s ( 80 gb, rev 2 ) in my desktop pc, this was easily one of the best upgrades I have ever made for speed. I decided on a cheaper laptop and have about 100.00 put aside for a new SSD, I remember when purchasing the intel that SSDs were pretty much in their infancy and that the Intel was really the only one that got it right for speed and performance. I read now that the OCZ ones are very good and on par. I would be willing to swap my Intel x 25 into the laptop and get a new SSD. Which one would be my best choice for price and performace tho ? ( I'm not too bothered about size as long as it is at least 60gb )
Any help or suggestions to point my in the right direction would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks Guys,
Kev
