New ssd install

Just purchased an M4 128 ssd and was wondering were I go from here. Is there a guide anyway that I can follow. I understand you need to update the firmware first before putting windows on? Also are there rules do's and donts?

Tried google but struggling and reading mixed instructions that I don't trust.

Have you checked first to see if it has latest firmware already? Use ssdlife and see,usually they have latest fw

The firmware upgrade on the M4 is generally very pain-free anyway. I just do mine from within Windows, run the installer, it reboots, flashes the drive, and puts me back in Windows again.
