New SSD Ordered

Hi all

Well i just ordered a OCZ Agility 3 120gb for my OS. My mobo is in my sig, im reading all sorts of firmware issues and things to it before i install windows on it. Can some one please let me know what i will need to do. Its going to be a fresh install of W7

you need to plug it in as a second drive, and run the software on the drive you have already before installing anything on it

i think i have 2.15 or something on my agility 3, havent been bothered to update it to latest, its been great

i think with the ocz toolbox you can update the firmware when using the drive as a boot drive or, however it goes. you need to burn a disc with imgburn and better head off to ocz page for top info

OP

You need the latest version of the OCZ toolbox for your particular drive:

And as Mei says... connect your new drive as a secondary (IE. to your existing system / setup) and run the Toolbox from within your existing system/OS.

If you should have any problems using the Toolbox (can't see why you should). Then OCZ can provide an ISO image that you can burn to a DVD. Boot from this (it's a purpose built Linux environment) and flash the firmware using this. See:

NB. You cannot update the firmware using the toolbox if you already have the OS installed on it.
