New SSD underperforming?

Hi,

I have just purchased a Samsung 850 EVO SSD, I am finding that it is taking around 15 seconds to boot up to a fresh install of Windows 7, I've read I could/should be achieving times of 8/9 seconds at this stage?

I have made sure that AHCI is turned on, and that it is installed in the correct SATA port on the motherboard but I still get the feeling it is underperforming. Can somebody help?

Here are the benchmark numbers.

Or does this seem normal?

are you measuring time from pressing the power switch or actual windows loading time?

everything is in order, 15s is decent time. if you want to speed it up, both 8.1 and 10 are faster to boot than 7.

what motherboard?

some take longer than others to boot up,latest mb bios might help

15 seconds isn't long

Started timing for windows only not from pressing power button - that makes sense I may have to try 8.1

All seems fine to me, that boot up time is normal, fast boot (Mobo dependent) would speed that up as it turns off certain things to speed up the boot process. Not really needed though.

The drives benchmark result seems spot on, especially as u have rapid mode turned on, which uses a portion of your Memory to aid performance.
