New SSD with old SATA Cable

Today I have received my first SSD, a Samsung 840 EVO 250GB, I have a new system arriving tomorrow which will already include the above drive but the 120GB variant (O/S will be installed on it).

I'm going to be using this new drive for Games and would like to use my old Serial ATA cables from an old PC to connect to the new system, will I need specific SATA cables to get the full benefit from the SSD or will the old ones suffice?

SATA cables are just SATA cables. old or new, doesn't matter.

Same myth as hdmi cables,they all offer same performance sata2 and sata3,old and new cables

Champion, Thats what I was hoping for. Just need to hope I get an additional cable to connect it to the power supply!

You can buy cheap molex to SATA power plug
