As it says new SSD i already have a crucial M4 60 GB .This is a noob question! can i get a 128 g and just pop it in alongside the 60 g one?.
My Mobo is a Gigabyte X58A-UD3R. Or should i upgrade my Mobo First?.

yeah you can use it alongside your 60gb,but it will only run at sata2 speeds, around 250mb read/write,the marvell sata3 ports are useless on those boards

the cost envolved in upgrading cpu/mb for intel sata3 isnt worth it imo, youd be hard pushed to notice the difference

except in benchmarks, then you see huge differences (in sequential read/write anyway) :(

its almost the main thing making me want to upgrade to 2011

its your wallet, personally i cant tell the difference from sata2 to sata3,what board/chip would you want? ahh socket 2011?

i didnt notice:eek:

its always nice to upgrade,x79 is top end though, you could do just as well plumping for z77? but again its upto what you want/need,x58 is still a decent platform
