Hi,

I'm looking at one of these, but is there a difference between the controllers used on the Samsung ones (3-Core MEX vs 3-Core ARM9 Risc MDX 300MHz)?

I'm open to other suggestions for makes / models.

I just think the 3 arm mex is newer controller hence the higher write speeds compared to the 840 basic but I could be wrong

seems a good choice ssd to me for the price

I agree.

The new controller runs faster. It's probably got new firmware and stuff. The spec's are better......

Is it much better than the previous Samsung SSDs ? Not really.

Are Samsung SSDs any good ? Yes, I think so.

Are they reliable ? They seem to be.

I think Samsung SSDs are a decent choice, that's why I choose them !

I'll add that if any of the Samsung SSDs that I`ve installed fails, I shall report it here and look for alternatives.

SAMSUNG seem very good and the software you get also helps... Make sure you change bios settings to AHCI before ghosting
