My money would be on the top one. The bank details he's using are correct as he bought Mass Effect, the block was put back on after that, which means another invalid transaction was attempted which caused Steam to flag it as suspicious.

wtf? The Orange Box was on a couple of days ago for not much more and you get Portal and a big handful of other games.
well i just bought mass effect and it went throught first time...weird thing is i try to install mass effect and braid which i bought the other day and it said to try again later as the servers are too busy.
so i clicked install again just to be sure and its downloading braid @ 1.2mb and mass effect and 600k lol.

...It's like I'm capped at 60KB/s and won't go any faster... Probs because the steam king is angry at me only buying stuff in sales.

I set mine downloading sam and max pack and trials at about 5.30am this morning. It maxed out my 20mbit connection (think my steam is still set to download from France region).
Over the sales period I've noticed large difference in speeds when downloading during the day/evening compared to middle of the night/mornings.
All I can suggest is try some other regions and if that doesn't sort it out it should pick up if you leave PC on during the night.

I have been using steam for a long time yet when I tried to purchase Dragon Age using the previously remembered details it failed. Checked them and tried again and failed. Switched to buy using paypal instead and it worked. All my monthly payments via card after that also failed so I called my bank and the steam purchase had triggered something anti fraud measures and I once I advised my bank that it was indeed me who attempted the purchase they removed the bar.
I guess if you keep trying on steam while bank has temp blocked the card then steam's own anti fraud will kick in?

Well in the official response that Steam Support gave him they basically said that if the transaction keeps failing the anti-fraud kicks in and blocks all transactions, which is understandable. If it keeps failing someone might have your card number and be trying to force the security code or something.

My friend gifted me the Max Payne bundle as I couldn't purchase at work. When I click activate gift it opens a new window and when clicking "Open my gift" nothing happens.

I am wonder if all these issues are to do with the number or amount of purchases we made. I know I've just spent over £100 on steam in December and I am wondering if more than £100 in transactions over a short time period triggers the fraud flags.

So at 5pm today it'll spin over into a new series of daily deals, will the same happen at 5pm tomorrow, or will that be the end of it?
I want to get batman:AA, but it hasn't been solo reduced, so I might buy the idiots pack instead as it is included, just wondering if today is the last set of daily deals at 5pm, or if there will be another chance tomorrow?
