New Strap

Been using mine for over 12 months now on an almost daily basis with no problems.

First one I had was the older better quality model and that lasted 18 months before the connector fell apart. I got a new one because the connector design had changed and I thought if would be better, I was pretty surprised by the drop in quality of both the strap and shoulder pad but I was even more shocked when less than a week into a 3 week trip to South America the connector again fell to pieces. I was lucky that on both occasions no damage was done.

Obviously everyone's experience will differ and I have no doubt the majority of people will be pleased I certainly wouldn't take the gamble again.

Peak's straps are immense. Had mine a day and you can feel the toughness throughout. It's rated to 45KG of weight so plenty of give and nothing is going to accidentally unclip and fall off.

The strap itself is like a seatbelt kind of material.

Yeah, I noticed these. Look really good, probably would have gone with one if they could have delivered sooner (I go away in two weeks). One to consider in the future...

Anyway, it arrived today, ultra quick delivery (I ordered Wednesday evening). So far.... well I've not had chance to use it really. I think i'll naturally be cautious on the first few outings, probably having it hanging off the hip with one hand underneath it (which actually feels quite natural)

Build quality seems good, and the sling style is infinitely more comfortable than the standard sort of strap, so regardless of which brand you chose, I would encourage anyone to give that style a try.

Will post more thoughts when Its had some use.
