New Super Mario Help Thread

I'm sure I'm not the only one having some trouble getting all the coins on the New Super Mario game.

I propose a thread where we can ask for help on specific problems as I for one like to complete games without the help of a guide (I know this isn't much different)

For starters

How do you get the first coin in the W6-EndCastle. The one just above the lava?

I got them all without a guide but can't remember well enough to help you. Google is your friend though and you don't need a thread on it.

A guide == being told the answer on a forum.

is the last level in the castle completable or do you need all the coins or something. Im on world 8 atm but i see that 4 and 6 (IIRC) i havent unlocked. Do i need to do these first?

You can complete it without getting the extra levels, they are bonus worlds.
